Most of my Soup Buddies aren’t home when I deliver so they leave a cooler on their porch in which I deposit the soup of the week (and sometimes a “welcome home” note or treats for pets). I then retrieve last week’s mason jar…like the milk delivery men of old (except I’m a “Soup Delivery Mama”). While the mason jar is a comforting reminder of a bygone era there is another good reason to use them: finished glass is inert and non-toxic. It is easy to clean and maintain, and its dense surface inhibits contamination. Plus glass is vastly recyclable.
So, The Soup Mama delivers tasty culinary creations in mason jars…..and that’s a very good thing.
